The Stones Begin To Dance

Over the last few years I have build up a collection of stones and rocks that individually hold a memory or multiple memories from a particular place or experience.

I am interested in the ‘space,’ being a metaphysical or an imaginative place where memory is held and phycological connections are entertained between the collector and the collection.

I am attempting to represent the space through the medium of sound. Stones are known to hold sonic properties. Artist Phil Dadson had explored these possibilities in his film work, ‘The fate of things to come – a conversation with stones (2013)’

Through the work of Phil Dadson I propose the use of Digital sound work to further represent the sonics of stones. Will the use of digitalized sounds altering the natural sonic properties allow he audience to identify with the space in a greater way? Or with the digitally representative element fail to welcome the audience in?
